Switch to SDE

Here at SDE we will make the transition from your previous accountant smooth and hassle free.

So, as we begin this journey, we wanted to inform you about the steps we take in changing accountants and how we approach our new engagement with you.

Letting your previous accountant know

We take care of this for you by sending your previous accountant an "Ethical Letter". This is normal procedure within our industry as a matter of professional courtesy. It has two purposes:

  1. To ensure that there is no ethical or professional reason why we should not accept the appointment; and
  2. To obtain relevant binders and file information necessary to start working with you.

Registering SDE as your Agent with Regulatory Bodies

As your new accountant we will register as your nominated agent with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) if applicable.

This will ensure that we are nominated as a point of contact for your business and our address will be listed with these regulatory bodies. It will also ensure that you are eligible for all lodgment concessions that are available.

Letter of Engagement

As your new accountant we are obliged to send you a 'Letter of Engagement' which sets out the expectations and obligations of both SDE and yourself.
